Dr. Lacy,

I'm not sure exactly what you're intimating; I once played
country "music" professionally as a bass player. I did
it for a heck of a lot less that a million dollars; in the
range of 10 to a million dollars, it was much closer to the
former.

It helped to keep my family and I out of the poorhouse. I am not
ashamed of what *I* did at that time. My favorite music was jazz
(Charlie Migus was my hero), but playing jazz paid much less. I
left music for close to 15 years after that episode, only recently
re-discovering it.

I started an appreciation of classical music *very* recently,
and possibly playing "Whiskey River" too many times was the
primary cause :)
