Remember that Welk's music is DANCE music in the folk sense for
a rather broad spectrum of the population. No one can deny the function
of this style of pop. Even to hear a live performance of Mozart, the
function is to sit and try and listen. Further dividing the genres is
the fact that one is called band and the other orchestra.
BTW, the clarinet can be used both in band and orchestra. :-)
