I've got an old (early 60's) record called "Blockbustin' Dixie", wherein
can be found "the only recorded appearance" of Pete Fountain and
Al Hirt together. Pete plays TENOR on a couple of the tracks. I seem
to recall Pete also playing tenor on a Welk show or two, replays of which are
shown on Saturdays on whatever the public television network (your
taxes and mine) is known by these days. To these untrained ears he
sounded pretty good, too.

Also another track of note, but I really can't remember the record title,
is "St. James' Infirmary". This is a mournful and haunting song. Pete
is the king of New Orleans blues.
