As the responder who took issue with your remark, I freely admit that I did
detect the smile in the tone of your remark. :) However, as the father of a
timpanist who has more musical talent in one little finger than most people
have in their entire bodies, and more drive to perfect the quality of his
sound than any other musician I know, I just had to take the opportunity to
praise the snare drum as a musical instrument.
