Re: "obscure" Stamitz concerto

Mike,
I have a copy of a Karl Stamitz Concerto in Eb published by Schirmer's,
Vol. 1849 (copyright 1968). It was edited and reduced (to piano
accompaniment) by Arthur Christmann. The first movement is Allegro in
4/4, 270 bars, with a written cadenza at the very end; the second
movement a Siciliano; and the third a Rondo in 6/8, 260 bars. The
preface to the piano accompaniment says K. Stamitz wrote at least eleven
clarinet concertos, and this was the eleventh as listed in Boese's
dissertation on clarinet pieces. I don't know if it's the same one
you're thinking of, but that's as good a description as I can come up
with without describing the notes themselves. Hope this helps a little.

Bill E.
