Several years ago I saw Pete Fountain play a curved soprano sax on a TV
program. His technique was great, but the intonation was baaaaaadddddd. I
would imagine he is proficient enough with the sax to play whatever he
wants............

As far as reading music, I heard that he doesn't read very well, but I sure
don't know for sure. I guess he's had a fairly successful career even if he
doesn't read.
