I like the Selmer Recital clarinet I played for awhile. I did not have a set
of them...just a Bb. I found it to be a nice instrument in all respects, but
a student of mine had it in his head that he had to have an instrument like
that. His mother asked if I would sell it, and since I had a nice R-13 that
I liked better than the Selmer I sold it. I guess it was ok that I did that,
because I never really missed it. He is still playing that clarinet some 12
years later.

The Vintage Buffet has a smaller bore than the current R-13 Prestige. It is
supposed to be a remake of the R-13 of the 50's. As far as I can tell they
did a good job. I am not crazy about the wood they used on this one, but it
plays very well.
