Someone asked why someone else decided to play clarinet.....

Well, the first day of school in 1963 I told the band director I wanted to
play tuba. He checked a sousaphone out to me. I took it home on my bicycle
that afternoon. That experience was enough to convince me to find something
else to play. My dad found an old hard rubber clarinet at a garage sale the
next weekend. Being the lazy sort, I took to its ease of transport. I've
stuck with it since.
