Thanks very much, Mark! I finally had the time to take a peak at the =
long one by Jonathan Cohler - it was very interesting.=20

Regarding the various questions lately on which way is the "correct way =
(jaw vs. diaphragm)", Jonathan mentioned that clarinetists should be =
able to use all *three* kinds of vibrato - lip, throat, and diaphragm - =
I guess implying that each technique will yield a slightly different =
effect. He feels that these three kinds of vibrato, plus =
double-tonguing, and circular-breathing, are all skills clarinetists =
should acquire, and should be taught at the university level (but has =
been greatly neglected). =20

This just confirms my belief that there is always something more to be =
learned! - and that's what I tell people when they ask why I still take =
more lessons after 18 years of them already under my belt!

For those who'd like to review a bit more on the subject of vibrato, I =
put together a few Klarinet postings on sneezy a while back; one by =
Connie Josias and a rather long one by Jonathan Cohler. They can be =
found at:

right near another favorite, the link to John Corina's
excellent article on "The Cadenza Problem In Classical=20
Concerto Movements",=20

Don't be put off just because John's an oboist and the article resides =
on the International Double Reed Society pages :)
