the "scoop" you are describing is really a glissando executed with the
back of the tongue. Try bending pitches downard ....perhaps on a high C
and then later moving higher and try to bend pitches down without moving
the embourchure or using fingers for the effect. Once you get that going,
you should be able to imitate what Stoltzman is doing.....
