Subj: selmer cork grease

I've seen some stores that only carry Selmer (I guess it's part of the
control that some of the manufacturers have over their distributors).
Someone mentioned that the liquid grease eats away at the cork glue. Since
he's in the business (from a technicians point of reference), and sees a
lot of that, I won't argue. I don't use it enough to see any correlation,
but that doesn't mean anything. Give me anything but the grape junk that
Vandoren put out 8 or 9 years ago.

David,
Thanks for the advice. I think I'll try the homemade brew and see what
I can come up with. I have had some accumulation of grease at the end of
the joints but clean it off each time. I haven't used Selmer, nor does
my closest, friendliest store have it.
