The version I've seen of this goes on: "for want of a rider the battle =
was lost, for want of a battle the kingdom was lost, and all for want of =
a horseshoe nail". I've no idea whether the extra is authentic Franklin,=
but I couldn't help wondering if it could be adapted for clarinet - you =
know, "for want of a reed the clarinet was lost, for want of a clarinet =
the player was lost, for want of a player..."
