Those who believe that the only way to teach a spammer is to spam back
are mistaken. That just clogs up things for everyone, and lowers you to
their status. A better thing to do is to contact the person privately
(which I did) and to notify the list owners. And now, since everyone was
complaining so much about it clogging up the list (which it did) let's
stop clogging up the list even more by getting off the subject, and hope
Matt learned his lesson.
There had been another problem on the list recently with people somehow
encrypting or sending attachments to their messages, and it has made a
genuine mess of several digests so far. Has anyone else noticed this?

As for those who would condemn every bit of hard rock and/or rap/gansta
rap, please, blanket statements are not attractive. The contradictory
statement "All generalizations are bad" seems to apply. There is much of
it I don't enjoy, and certainly it's not the same *kind* of music as
classical music is, and it's definitely offensive when it's very loud.
Most music is. But please, don't condemn it all on sight.
