For those who like the idea of securing the reed with parallel bars, and
are not necessarily enamoured with the Bonade, try inverting a
Rovner...using the metal "rods" as the principal means of fitting the
reed to the facing.

If you're left handed this set-up becomes naturally convenient. If you're
right handed, it is possible to remove the "rods" in the Rovner and
reverse them...putting the tightening screw on the right. BUT be
careful...it is possible to rip the fabric.

[I used this arrangement on a bari sax moputhpiece for some period with
exellent results...haven't tried it on either my clarinet or bass
clarinet but someone may want to experiment.]
