I definitely agree with you!! And hopefully I would get a judge that
agrees also.

What really bugs me is the fact that the Florida Bandmasters Association
Music Committee (which don't get me wrong, they do an overall fabulous
job) puts a piece that is seventeen minutes long on their list, and on
top of that puts a star next to it, denoting that it is recommended
literature, while going on to say that the time limit for a solo
presentation is six minutes! It's almost like the people who put the
piece on the list just put it there because it is a major part of the
repertoire and not because they actually looked it over.

Is anyone on this list a member of FBA? Because I would be very
interested in learning if there were some way to circumvent this time
restriction.

You really can't do the job the piece deserves in only six minutes.
