Many years ago (for me anyway) Some people broke away from Buffet and
Selmer. The two factories are walking distance from each other in
France. They (I dont know exact names) Tried to come out with some new
horns. I have an e-flat that just says "MADE IN FRANCE" (Maybey they
were cone-heads?) Some of the line were also produced in Germany and I
think possibly very few of them in Spain.??? They are pretty good for,
students, outside concerts doublers w/a budget and music depts. Due to
the fact that they are cheep. I got the e-flat for $110 in 88'. I am
going on a hunch. From the time I used my "MADE IN FRANCE" I had good
succses w/it. If your "MADE IN WEST GERMANY" is a ok horn, then go for
it. Just dont expect the up keep to be so easy.
