I, personally, like the Yamaha's better. They are usually made pretty
well. The problem with a lot of basses that teachers run into is that
they are very temperamental. If one of your students dropped any part
of the instrument you might as well replace it. I have a Selmer Paris
model . .wooden, low C extension and left Ab key. It plays really nice,
but I've had in the shop at least six times in the last two years. I
don't really know anythingj about the other model you have.
