A number of years ago, I was happily using the Vandoren B-45. When
trying out a newer B-45 to have as a backup, I did not like it as well as
my original one. I then tried a B-46. Since then, the B-46 has been my
regular mouthpiece and the B-45 is my backup.
I found that the B-46 seemed to give me a bit more open sound; it
seemed to play a bit freer. Anyway, I've been happy with it for symphony
and band work.
