My first experience was great fun. I still have the clarinet I did it to.
I had to make a lamp out of it, because when I was through repairing it, it
was beyond help. It sits on one end table in my teaching studio at home,
thirty-five years later. (I am much better at seating pads by now.)
Seriously, you need to decide if you want the clarinet to play its best
or if you want to enjoy tinkering with it. With no experience doing this,
you probably can't have both on your first try.
