I've never been told not to use vibrato on bass. Last year at solo and
ensemble my judge told me it was unusual to hear vibrato on bass, but it
was up to the players descretion. I think vibrato on clarinet is good only
for jazz. I think it adds a lot to bass clarinet playing.
