Also, your state might have a list of specific solos for clarinet that
you need to pick from. In Florida, we have a list, and also a star next
to pieces that are "significant literature". If your state has such a
system I would take a look at the list, and any of the pieces within
your ability denoted as sig. lit., or something like that would be
recommended. Of course, those pieces are the ones judges usually hear
the most of, so if you do play one make your performance something
special.
I would like to hear more about you though, your playing, etc. so I
could offer better advice.
