Carlos,
Good message. I'm an avid shooter and always wear ear protection. My
husband (a physician) also shoots, and states that the mastoid bone-area
behind the ear also conducts sound and vibration so it's best to wear
the "ear-muff" type protection when shooting. I don't play in a band
(yet!) but may and have the foam ear plugs I take when horseback riding
and shooting. Would those be good for keeping out brass and drum sound,
also? They're not as effective for shooting noise, but we don't shoot
excessively around the horses - just enough to keep them used to the
sound of firearms and not panic, and usually fire a .22. It's great fun!
By the way, I think my family would be interested in custom ear plugs
when I practice the clarinet...
;-)
Carol
