That's true Roger. I got quite a lecture at state festival this year
for not using "special Eb" fingerings for my Eb Clarinet Solo. Instead,
I had the barrel pulled out which made the top notes in tune, but killed
the throat tones.

Actually, wouldn't playing such an instrument so early perhaps throw off
a kids ear. It is quite out of tune, unless you learn how to control
it.
