I agree with you. Starting to early does take away from the experience.
People are different. I started playing clarinet in 4th grade. I am now
1st chair in our high school band and in 10th grade. I was 2nd chair in
9th grade. Anyway, I think that for some people, it is better to start
earlier. For other people, it is better to start later. I feel that I
could have started earlier, but at my school, they didn't start lessons
until 4th grade.
