Dolphy appears on Coltrane's album, "Impressions." Impressions is also
the name of one of the tracks, a piece written by Coltrane, which one of
the early examples of what came to be known as "modal jazz."
The catalog I have available says that the album is "MCAD-5661."
It can be purchased by mail-order through Double-Time Jazz, which is one
of Jamey Aebersold's enterprises. I think I am correct in saying that
this is now one of the largest-volume dealerships in jazz recordings in
the world. And, the prices are quite reasonable.
The telephone number for orders is: 1-800-293-8528. Or, you can fax an
order to: 1-812-949-2006.
The standard disclaimer applies: I have no commercial relationship with
Jamey Aebersold or Double-Time Jazz. (Except that I have bought a lot of
C.D.'s from them.)
