Subj: cost of lessons relativity

It all depends on where you live , and the relative cost of living.
If you can live like in a house (3000 sq ft. new home) for only $140,000,
then the area will dictate that a lower lesson price then an area where the
only decent homes (+30 years old) are over $175,000. That is the
difference. I played in a festival with Kathy Hudgins (husband Bill -
principal BSO) when they were playing in the Charleston Sym. She told me
that the cost of living in Chicago where they were from was more then 3
times the cost of South Carolina.
so...
$10 South Carolina
$30 Chicago
Equal buying power, except for when you go to get that new Lexus.

I am probably butting in on this "conversation" for no good reason, but
$10.00 is the going rate for lessons??? WOW!! My mother has been paying
$30.00 for a 1 hour lesson once a week for a year! Maybe we should move
to Texas...
