My first books were the Rubank Series. I would started with Advanced
Vol. I (since you've been playing a while), and also look at Advanced
Vol. II. The main distinction between them is the second volume deals
with messier keys. If you use the "units" defined in the front of the
book it really balances articulation, melodic, scale, ornamentation, and
solo studies well.

Also, you might want to look at David Hite's Artistic Studies Series
Vol. I, which is a collection of C. Rose's Etudes. It is published by
Southern Music Company. Perhaps the Klose Method might also be good, as
it has some nice duets, and also scale and technical exercises; it is
published by Rubank.

Rubank also publishes two volumes of clarinet duets, the second of which
I have studied, and found interesting. Also you might want to try
Concert and Contest (I think that's the title) put out by Rubank for a
good collection of solos. I've played Scene and Air in that collection,
and it also includes the Adagio from the Mozart Concerto and a few
others.

Alan Stanek publishes an article on OCR which might be of interest to
you. He talks about Solo Preparation, and also provides a number of
suggested pieces and books. The address for the article is
http://sneezy.mika.com:80/OCR/articles/stanek1.html

Hope this helps!
