I, too, have heard recommendations of motor oil for keys, especially for
saxophone. Personally, I think it is too heavy for clarinet. I have some
Bach rotor oil that came in a nice pin oiler that is much heavier than key
oil (which is basically de-scented kerosene) and seems to do the job well.
