My husband, who considers himself an expert in these matters, reports:
If it's a high float, that would be indicative of a clarinet pitched in Eb.
If it's a low float, possibly a C clarinet.
Of course, if it's a Bb and it's left in the water too long, or the water is
too hot, it may *become* an Eb.
