Does anyone else have access to your instrument? As a school services rep
for a music store, I have found that some young people think it is
hysterically funny to swap barrel joints or bells between other peoples'
instruments. That might explain it. If that is not it, a competent
repairman should be able to refit the bell for a very reasonable price.
