Mindy,
The summer humidity finally got to it! The same thing happened a
few years back with my clarinet. It's getting caught on a tenon
shoulder.

It is a very simple job for a competent repairman - and pretty
inexpensive (it was thrown in for free during a replacement of 2
pads).
