How about the third movement of Poulenc's Sonata? It caught my eyes the
first time I heard it because it's fast, exciting, and only 3 and a hald
minutes, so you would probably keep the attention of the audience for
the whole piece.
In general, I would recommend a collection of smaller pieces rather than
really long ones (over 6 minutes). Not too long ago, when I was in
Elementary school, we had a fabulous chamber ensemble play, but they
played stuff like Mozart and Brahms. This is great music, but it may
not command the attention of 6-11 year olds.
