I actually watch the audience during recitals and solo performances. I
like the audience contact, and people in the audience are sort of
surprised by it, but more drawn into the performance. While I can count
the number of times I've experienced stage fright on one hand, I
sometimes think it would have been a lot smarter to know when I should
have been scared!
