I have a few questions regarding the adjustment of reeds:

When during the "breaking in" period is ideal for reed adjustment? In the
Woodwinds and Brasswinds catalog a saw a Rigotti, special tempered steel,
ebony handle, bevel edge knife for 17$, is it worth it? What is the best
kind of sharpening stone I can get (for under 25$) and where can I get it?

If anyone can answer any of this (or give me a few reed adjustment tips) it
would be greatly appreciated.
