To the young man who first raised this issue:
I have a usually reliable source who says that it probably
wouldn't be a good *social* thing to take Inderol while
performing at Interlochen, never mind the medical
implications. One of the purposes of the Interlochen
experience is learning how to perform, not just play
music. Another is how to interact socially in a very
demanding situation. If you *do* get a prescription I
would suggest that you don't get it filled before going
to Interlochen. Wait until after the first juries and
you have an idea of how much peer support you get; you
may be surprised. Even though the demands and
competitive level is high, the (clarinet, at least)
students support each other. Another hint - make friends
with a piano major - their "community service" is to be
accompaniasts. My "usually reliable" source's best friend
is a piano major :)

Your livelihood is not on the line there; I don't
really think you should get too worked up before you
have even experienced the place.
