Hello, folks -- I have an opportunity to purchase a Noblet model 45 B flat
clarinet, described as "recently refurbished," for my stepdaughter, who is
a good high school player. According to its serial number, it was made in
the early 60s. It appears to be in beautiful condition and Meredith likes
its tone and feel. She has been playing a borrowed Buffet R-13 for the
last year, and the Noblet compares favorably. It is perhaps not quite as
full-bodied as the R-13 in the lower register, but seems superior in the
higher register. (reads like a wine review, doesn't it?) I would
appreciate if some knowledgeable folks could give me an idea of the
approximate value of this instrument. Thanks for your help.
