Roger,
If you spray your mouth with a breath spray called "sweetbreath"
about 5 minutes before you play it takes care of dry mouth. Somehow it
makes your salivary glands produce saliva. This was a tip that I got
from a singer last year. It works.
Also, be sure to drink plenty of fluids the morning before a
concert. This helps me quite a lot.
