Jerry,

Thanks for the compliment. I had heard an adage that if something isn't
selling, raise the price.

A few years ago when Yamaha came out with professional model grenadilla
clarinets, they priced them quite a bit lower than Buffets, LeBlancs, and
Selmers, and few clarinetists took notice of them or bought them. Most
clarinetists thought, "An instrument this cheap probably *is* cheap."
Making a shrewd business decision, Yamaha *raised* the price substantially,
whereupon clarinetists took notice and started buying them. I heard they
were fine instruments, but I don't know whether Yamaha still makes them.
