I couldn't agree with you more. Being a student, probably the best
thing my teacher gives me each week is encouragement. Even when I'm
feeling burnt out, not playing well, my best reed just broke,
whatever... Not only does he teach me technique, articulation, and add
to my repertoire, but he gives me confidence, which is the most
important thing, to me anyway, when I need to perform.

Probably, your student was so used to hearing you, that when she got to
this other teacher it just shocked her. Those who take regularly might
have a better relationship... Either way, though, a student should
NEVER leave a lesson in tears.

Point to Ponder

"Your manuscript is both good and original, but
the part that is good is not original and the part
that is original is not good." -Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)
