I used to have a problem with keeping my fingers curved, since many of =
my first finger joints are doubled jointed. My fingers would curve =
alright, but in the opposite direction! My teacher wouldn't even let =
double-jointedness be an excuse for improperly curving fingers. It only =
took about 2 weeks however, to get this problem corrected. =20

Essentially, he told me to curve my fingers properly, and keep them =
relaxed (because as soon as I put any pressure on the problem joints, =
they'd pop inward), and move only *one* set of knuckles when playing - =
the third set (i.e. the set that attaches your fingers to your palm). =
This technique also helps you to increase your speed in playing, moving =
one set of knuckles is faster than moving two or even three sets! But =
the bottom-line is that by getting your finger curve correct, and then =
moving only from the third set of knuckles, you never have to alter that =
correct finger curve.
