I had the same problem for a while. I know that what works for one may not
work for all. That said, to correct, I had to visualize more openness in
the top of the throat and relax. I thought of pulling the chin down and it
made a big difference. I really did not have to do much in the way of
adjusting how much lip was used. This may not seem too scientific, but the
adjustment made a big difference in my playing at the time. I'm not sure
if I did but I hope I helped.
