There is product on the market called Reed Life that is distributed by Carvo
Musical Products . It was developed by a chemist at the Center for Disease
Control who is also an amateur clarinetist. This formula disinfects reeds,
and also has a "humectant" to replace some of the essential oils that are
present in the wood and revitalize it. For those of you who may be interested
or concerned about bacteria in the cane, you might check this out.

You could get more information about Reed Life from Carere Music in Atlanta,
phone # 770-671-0517. Although Carere Music is a Zonda Reeds dealer, we have
no connection to the Reed Life product, I'm just aware of it and thought the
list would like to be in the know.
