I pass this suggestion on from my husband. I am not sure if I believe
it or not but here goes.

He says that when he was a kid and he got poison ivy, his mother would
put one cup of chlorine bleach in a full bathtub of water and have him
bathe in that. He says it worked but it sounds risky to me.
