There have been a couple of replies as to "reinking" the maker's stamp with a
gold leaf crayon. I have also seen tubes of "highlighting" cream sold. With
the cream you wipe it on with a cloth and then wipe away the excess before it
dries. I don't have any on hand to see if it would be detrimental to wood.
It didn't have any effect on the resin plastic that it was used on- it was
used to make molded plastic plaques look like metal. As I recall it came in
several different metal tones and looked pretty good. It might be available
at a hardware or hobby shop.

Subject: aching hands/ lettering
I have a Recital clarinet and I think it is doing a number on every part
of my hands and wrists. I get sharp pains after playing awhile. Is there
any neckstraps for clarinets on the market? This might sound kind of gay
but can somebody tell me if a repair man reink(might not be a proper
term) the gold on the lettering if it fades out?
Thanks,
Chad
