Thanks Nicholas, any particular section or aria you like in that opera?
Also, being a tuba player as well, I just had to pick this quote out

and say that tuba parts get pretty ugly sometimes, especially because
we're not used to having to bounce around three or four octaves like
clarinet, yet a lot of composers seem to be under the impression that we
can, without driving ourselves mad.

Also, I agree that while I, and many others on this list it seems, find
toungue piercing to be odd we shouldn't criticize. I am glad the
question was asked before the fact, so that maybe we could present some
useful ideas. That's really what we're about here anyway.
