C'mon everyone - While I agree that list members can post to any subject
they want, I have to say that I don't find the tongue piercing post worthy
of significant, introspective discussion except to say the following:

Wouldn't you think that if someone was serious about their clarinet
playing, they wouldn't even THINK of doing such a thing? If this person
was a student of mine, I would tell them: 1) that if they were thinking of
this, DON'T and 2) if they already had their tongue pierced, unpierce it
and then come back and study with me; not until.

I may have wanted to smoke cigarettes at one time but realized that my
lungs were very important (duh?) to my clarinet playing and decided not
to. Needless to say, I don't smoke now or have ever. Thank God
because my father died of lung cancer.

One has to make choices in life and if one wants to play the clarinet,
tongue piercing is definitely not compatible. Pierce something else [no
comment, here ;-)] or play the violin!
