I noticed I was one of the few who did not flame you for the idea of
tongue piercing, so it is pretty obvious that I am under 25. Despite
what they might think, I was never a wild child; however, I think the
clarinet teachers make a valid point. People always get first
impressions from your appearance, and tattoos, mohawks, and piercings in
places other than the ears will automatically lower respect in the eyes
of some people. If you do this, you will probably have to work harder
that you are a good worker/student/person to more people. I'd advise
against it. Why stick a hole in your body to impress a few people you'll
lose contact with in a few years and turn everyone else off in the
meantime?
