Susan,
My pinkies, especially, the left hand loves to bend backwards,sort of
unusual for the pinkies or any fingers to be in that position. I believe
it could be a matter of independence of the fingers, I am not sure but I
am working on it. The idea of lifting the fingers up one by one with the
hand flat on the table seems to work a little to gain independence,
however my pinkies still loves to bend backwards. Once I gain the
independence I can control my fingers a little better.However, you are
right. It does not need to be curved so much.
