Craig,

The piece has been thought it was composed by Richard Wargner,
as you wrote. However, the whole quintet (or can be performed as
a concerto with 2 horns), including the Adagio, was found as
a composition by Joseph Heinrich Baermann. So, I think there is no
doubt for the fact that the Adagio was composed by Joseph Heinrich
Baermann. The full score of the quintet is available from Schott.
Sorry that the catalog number is not available right now,
since I'm now in office.
