Naomi,
Bernstein has a sonata for clarinet and piano that might be of
interest. It is in 2 movements, the second being mostly in mixed meter.
Might want to try to find a recording of it to get a feel for the second
movement. There is also a concerto by Copland, but that is much more
difficult.
